Hi!

I was fiddling with the my Mini at home, and I had to remove my rear silencer (Sportex 2" center exit) and I couldn't resist to turn the key (who can blame me? )

Anyway, after giving it a couple of revs (and waking up the neighbors) I thought about running it with a straight pipe, but I don't really like the sound of it at idle (it kind of sounds like a tractor...). So I was wondering, is there anything I can do to eliminate most of that idle "rumble"? Maybe a resonator or something?

Keep in mind, that I would only run it with a "straight pipe" every now and then. Most of the time I would run my Sportex rear silencer. I also have space to easily change my exhaust at home at any given time, so it wouldn't be much work.

On a similar note, what exhaust set up do race Minis (mostly interested in Historic Racing Minis) run?

Thanks in advance!

That would be a real 'boy-racer' set up.
