As per title really, have asked my man who usually does all our machining etc for work, but dosent want to get involved in taking some weight off the stem of the A+ drive, saw one on ebay a while ago, for £25 wish i bought it now. so who does it?

But yes I agree that the dizzy drive cant really be lightened much

not very constructive, but throw it away and fit megajolt. :)

I lighten dizzy drive, and most other things that move, on certain engines. Gets rid of about 40g and puts a nice radius on gear end.
I do it because I have the facilities...would I pay someone to do it? No.

I have done a few, but have no drawing.

 

In addition to AC, Phil and Oz, if you know what you want, any general machine shop (and not necessarily automotive) will be able to do it for you.

The weight loss is secondary, the reason for machining them down is to reduce dwell error .... I would have thought some of you guys would have known this ??

Interesting,how does it improve the gear mesh,the tolerances in the drive slot,the fit of the rotor arm etc?Is it to reduce inertia and twisting of the shaft?Seriously I would like to know.Steve..

It's all in the David Vizard book, I personally wouldn't use one because I fitted an ECU a long time ago and never looked back, but if you are after any measurable gain then it's one more mod to consider.
