1100 Crank Into 1275 Block

Loads of people have done this - known as a stroked crank.

However, you need the earlier 1275 crank NOT one of the A+ ones, due to the way the big end journals are machined.

Then obviously you need con-rods with the Cooper S size big ends.

i have 2 cranks to choose from, both 1275 gt's from the mid 70's. i'm sure that they're not a+

i'm just hunting down some s rods now. not easy or cheap, but doable

Aftermarket Steel rods are readily available, you will also need suitable pistons.

 

And for reference the early 1275 blocks with long stroked (special) crankshaft could be taken out to about 1630cc, excellent torque but not a revvy engine, good for rallycross.... 

 

Pretty sure the 83mm stroke mod needs an early block as well, because you have to grind for clearance...
