Mpi Thermostat Blanking Sleeve

Can I use a thermostat blanking sleeve on a mpi head with the usual sandwich plate?

Just thinking on. The blanking plate would actually be pointless. As there is no bypass hose to blank off.

 

but the other question still stands why?

It’s a rally car Iv been running it without a thermostat but Iv heard it’s not a good idea as cylinders 3 & 4 can get to hot
