Can't find the exact answer I'm looking for in the other heater hose topics

Car is a 1991 998cc  -heater hose is 5/8 from head to heater tap

I assume its 5/8" from there to the matrix and 5/8" from the matrix and this adaptor

https://www.minispar...|Back to search

steps down to 1/2" to go into the bottom hose  ?

Thanks to confirm please.

Reason to ask is that I would like to carry a short length of hose to the IMM (amongst other things) in case the heater springs a leak, for a bodge fix short-cutting the head to the bottom hose. I don't have any spare 5/8 hose as all my previous minis and my other current mini were/are all 1/2" hoses.

Cheers, Mark

You will get 1/2 on all of it if you need.

Just think. 1/2 is 4/8 and the other is 5/8ths

Yes only 1/8th of an inch but wasn't sure if it would force on or not.

Cheers again.

Wouldn't carrying a short length of 1/2" OD metal pipe be easier and take up less space?

For a temporary fix it should .. but not older hose as it gets brittle and is likely to split again ..
