Hi again, has anyone seen this type of outer sill before? Surely not oversills but they look different to other genuine outer sills to me. Could you let me know whether they are ok as I think and if there are correct?
Cheers

That looks like a 6” MK1/2/3 cover sill.

They also came in 8” that had closed vents and went right down to the horizontal section of the floor.

Ah reyt thanks so they are a type of cover sill. I’d never heard of a open type of cover sill but obviously know all about how bad the closed vents ones are. Are they as bad as them and should I totally avoid or are they ok as they are still vented? I can see how it comes lower down than a standard sill now you’ve said. Looks like it could just be a non genuine sill fitted rather than a sill over the top of the original ones IMO, what do you reckon?

by the way spot on tuppers definitely these ones. The minis been off the road for 9 years so could just be the case that the old ones were cut off and these were fitted rather than a genuine one. If rover supplied them and they are vented they surely they can’t be that bad?

Also worth pumping some Waxoyl up into the sills via the vents, also via seat belt bolt holes and from inside the rear side pockets via any convenient holes.
