I thought it was time to start building up the panels I will need for the rear repairs. I am going to start with the small panels that go under the rear lights and the centre section for the boot hinge (yes I know there is one panel, but I need to budget a bit) followed by the half boot, rear valance and closing panels.

I was looking at the M Machine ones, as I hear they are good, but I may actually have time to drive down to Minispares on Tuesday and pick them up. Quality wise, are they M Machine or magnum or is it lottery. If the opinion is M Machine and just get them delivered then that's the way I will go.

Also, for patch repairs, 1.2mm or 1mm sheets as a general.

Look at my link on another site and you will see what I am dealing with. Lol

Cheers

I would say a genuine rear valance is worth getting over the cheaper ones (not sure on the m-machine one though) the quality is so much better.

Most repairs are 1mm sheet, the heel board and toe board are 1.2, plus a couple of other areas I think.

Valance I agree, but I want to make a start now I have finished messing with the Landy. I would start with the small panels to at least have the valance to weld something to.

0.9mm is the standard panel thickness and the other items 1.2mm.

As for the M Machine panels, compare the prices against Minispares etc and that way you will see what are Magnum / Heritage etc. Either that or when you ring them to order ask on the day.

M-Machine don’t make their own rear valance it will most likely be a Heritage one.

There are all sorts of alternative to repair panels. Closing panels, repair panels, wheel arch repairs etc, subframe mount repair panels. Blimey. Which to buy?

If you can afford it stick to Heritage, from my personnel opinion they are superior I had a terrible time with the front using non genuine panels in the end I sold them on.

Shop around between the main companies Minispares, Minisport, Leacy and Bull motif stock genuine panels.

Sound advise. I just need to have some sort of budget, but as you say, looking around may be the best option. Never heard of Leacy.
