I just happen to have an MPI loom on the table in front of me. Here is a picture of the stalk connectors:

There is a 7 pin connector which I think is for the lights.

  • 1x empty terminal

There is an 8 pin connector which I think is for the wipers.

There is a 4 pin connector which I assume can only be indicators.

Then there is the horn connector:

There is a section in the Rover Mini MPI manual.

There are links to a number of manuals in post number 40 in this thread:

I can't find any suitable connector on the MPI loom for that plug. Maybe the 4th plug is not used on minis because Rover used the same stalks in a number of models I believe. Perhaps it could be for a rear wiper on other cars which would probably be controlled via the stalk and a common housing is used?.

Could be an AIT-II connector: https://uk.rs-online...ectors/1449397/

I'd need a better image of the connector, but both RS and the Manufacturers data sheets are not clear enough to tell.

Phil.

Edited to add: the connector is known as the Squib connector even though it's not for the airbag, and seems to be available from some of the Land-Rover parts places as part no: YPC10270.
