So most of these have a starting price of £1500 give or take and all by this person jlsplant

Seriously people if you cannot touch the car run away. Ebay is awash with scammers.

No nothing like these. It wasnt on ebay, not sure which website now, might have been car and classsic.

The moment I showed interest the advert vasnished

Its spreading to all sites, Gumtree, Pistonheads etc etc. You really have to be on alert. If it looks too good to be true then invariably it will be.

eBay don’t do a protected anything.

eBay do have some protections for users of the US site who are based in the US.

I've seen these pop up then vanish. All the cars look too cheap. It's funny as the prices on the listings are odd amounts like £3036 or £4509 ect.

He has been doing this for some time now ....I report it every time and so do many others after a few days they are  always taken down .

He uses the same photos every time .
Just click on “ other listings “ and you will see he has hundreds at a time .

It seems only possible to report one item at a time, not the seller - as above there are sometimes hundreds of listings from this seller. Not sure why eBay can't remove everything rather than individual listings when it's clearly a scam.

Because eBay make money from listings so screw the potential loss of thousands to innocent people.

Not strictly true, it’s free to list, especially if an auction, and they only make money on final value fees, or if the seller buys a classified ad listing, which these are not.

But I do agree that how on earth can this fraud still be prevalent and so easy to spot, why can’t they use their software to spot and delete or even stop them from posting multiple fake listings in the first place!

The accounts are all hacked, reason for this is originally when scam started the big give away was new account with 0 feedback. Now they list through the hacked accounts showing good feedback, a real quick tell tale is click “ sellers others items” you’ll see all kinds of vehicles from tractors to micro lites they’re selling. not one of the vehicles will be photographed in the same location. It’s very rare they list a vehicle that hasn’t been previously listed as they obtain the pictures from previous listing. At times they have listed approx 600 varying vehicles in one go.
If it seems to good to be true it generally is ....
