Anyone on here driving one of the above engined cars?
Problems with oil consumption and required engine rebuilds required on engines prior to 2012 are well documented.
Looking possibly to purchase a 2014-2016 tfsi engined audi, wanting to know if Audi had resolved the issue by this point?

Used in loads of VAG cars, pretty decent units and as above not know as oil drinkers.

Obviously doesn't mean you don't keep an eye on the level and top up if required.

If these problems existed in British cars the press would be constantly telling you how crap they are

The only real troublesome one which Im sure youre all aware of is the twin charged 1.4s.

The 1.8 and 2.0s have been around in different disguises for a while now and I thought they were ok. Timing chain/belts/tensioners excluded.

I've got a friend who had a 1.4 petrol golf.

It loved oil.

Yeah I was looking at the fabia vrs with 1.4 twin charger and the early engine codes of them were turds apparently but was by and large fixed in the
Model years you refer to. Larger capacities I don’t think have an issue

Correct the early ones were terrible.

The later ones not much better thats why VAG dropped the 1.4 twin charge altogether.

Shame because I really fancied one. Took one for a test drive and it was brilliant. Was just put off by the horror stories. Ended up with a countryman s instead so not all bad

I really wanted the Fabia VRS. I understand theyre not technically attractive but something about the looks, especially in green, really floats my boat but like you I was too put off by horror stories.
