I agree.. You should at least have got a written report for that detailing exactly what was required, that's just a silly amount to charge for quoting mini sill repairs

get the panels  plenty of places sell them with pics of whet your getting, m machine, bulmotif spares, even ebay

get a mig. you could pick up a tidy little home set up for 300 ish and spend the next couple of weeks practicing on scrap with various different types of weld technique, loads of vids on youtube ect .

when you can lay a weld to a tidy standard without blowing holes [everybody will blow holes at some point]  fit them yourself ,get some tec screws from screwfix .clamp and tec screw into place and then when happy get them welded, youd be surprised how solid they are when screwed into place to be honest   and after you only have a little 5 mm hole to weld up where the ecrew was..

Thanks for the tip on Tec screws, I'll run it past my mate who's a welder and is taking a look at the weekend

Yes after a lot of soul searching she's coming home today.

We've got a great garage and I've been reading the sticky sill repair thread on TMF - I'm going to learn how to weld from a good mate of mine who does precision welding for a living so hopefully I can do a decent job and save her.

It's my wife's 40th party on 23rd May so there's a target to aim for.

Big thank you to everyone on here for advice and encouragement

If you want to go the resto. route try the premier mini company in Bridgenorth or the long mynd service station in Church Stretton.
