Hi
I just tapped it with a 3/8" tap

I haven't got a long enough stud to do it.
I'll have to get one
To pull it out is it the 2 stud method?
I might as well do it now get it nice and ready for the machine shop

Managed to get it out.
What do you think?
To much damage to be reused?

I think the condition of the seat inside it is more important.

That damage does not matter;  if you replace it, just smooth it off so that " Half the Dead Sea"  doesn't catch on it, and make sure that that side faces the flywheel.

As UBFITM says above, it is the oil pressure relief valve seat that needs examining.

"Half the Dead Sea" is a gross exaggeration of all the crud, floating around in the galleries, that you have found in there, and removed;  but which some people seem to think, might re-appear and cause a blockage.

In the lower of the two photos, there does appear to be some marks on the machined part of the seat - is this some damage to it or just some 'dirt' on it ?

If indeed this is an imperfection, check the bore in the block that it fits in to for damage. If that's OK but the seat is damaged, I'd suggest replacing the seat.

I scratched it in a vice while cleaning it.
At this point I might as well try to find a new one.
Mini spares .
Sommerfield mini
Mini sport
Moss all out of stock.?

By the way is this rivet part of the oil gallery's ?

It is not surprising that these are out of stock, not many people need them.

The end on photos of the valve seat looks OK, so using a fine file, gently take off the raised marks made by your vice and re use this one.

If in years to come, you ever find they are in stock, you now know how to remove this one and replace it.

The rivet is part of the waste oil gallery, that is, the oil that has bled past the pressure relief valve.

Do  Not  Remove It.
