I scratched it in a vice while cleaning it.
At this point I might as well try to find a new one.
Mini spares .
Sommerfield mini
Mini sport
Moss all out of stock.

By the way is this rivet part of the oil gallery's ?

Even another used one would be fine - they are all the same, except for the ones from the Engines fitted to Automatic Gearboxes and it's not something that normally wears out.

The Rivet is a Plug in the Block. Where that one is is for an 'Air' Bleed Relief on the back of the Oil Pressure Relief Valve, so that as that Valve comes off it's Seat, The 'Air' (or Air / Oil mix) on the Spring side of the Valve has somewhere to go.

It's not a bad idea to remove it for cleaning.

I use Screwed Plugs when replacing them, so it makes cleaning again later easy, they don't fall out and they don't leak.

Be careful though when replacing it that what ever you use doesn't go in too deep or it will block off this vent and your Oil Pressure will be sky high.

Best if you check on your Block.

There's also another plug that should be pulled here. If you are going to clean it all, these are also blind pockets where half the dead sea resides.

If you look on that picture, that's looking at the Sump Rail of the Block down at No. 3 Main Bearing end.

The Red Arrow is pointing to the additional Plug that should be pulled here. As to how deep you can go with your replacement plug (for the rivet), if you measure the depth of the Block from the face where that rivet is (Blue Arrow), to this Hole (Red Arrow), that's how deep you have.

I use 5/16" UNF Cup Point Grub Screws and Loctite type 243 to plug these up. Loctite, as well as being a thread locking compound, also seals threads.

When fitting them back in, fit the one from the front of the Block in first and then look up the Hole that has the Red Arrow to check this plug has not blocked off that passage, then fit this one in the Sump Rail last.

How did you get them out?

I drill and tap them for an M5 Screw and with a high tensile fastener (Black Cap Head Bolts are usually high tensile), I fit that to the Slide Hammer and pull them out with that.
