Hi
If you want to drill the door for the wiring my 75 1275gt Wood&Pickett mini had electric windows the hole was 35mm from the bottom of the top hinge and 25mm in from the inner door skin. You can just see the rubber blanking plug in the centre of the pic.

Thanks for that Chris, that's really useful. How about the hole into the car, does it go straight across or does it go through a wiggly rubber sleeve.
Straight across and up inside the A pillar to behind the dash.

That's great, thanks I'll give it a go.

I fitted one of the Wood and Pickett winder kits in the early 90's to a brand new SPI cooper... along with the central locking kit... all interfaced to the Rover alarm. This looks the same as the Minispares kit.

I remember the windows working fairly well, but I think one of them always went up at a slight angle as the drive is in the middle of the glass rather than on the edges like the manual unit.

The central locking was the best though and I always felt a sense of pride as I set the alarm and the doors locked as I walked away.

I seem to remember they were relatively easy to fit apart from drilling the doors for the wires. I am sure these were offset though as there isn't much space between the door and the hinge panel.

This was fitted before digital cameras so I don't think I have any photos, but I will check.

Yes, you can!
All you need is some cable ties, a Lego electric engine and... a shark! ?

There are some images on post no 6 that may help when drilling holes in doors

The offset in the wires in the linked photos is what I remember when I fitted mine. I have attached a couple of photos I took in 2002 which shows how neat it all looked and also the offset wire path!!

I didn’t have a problem closing the doors and I had the car for 8 years with the electric windows fitted.
