Just out of interest -

Has anyone tried a larger brake servo in an MPI / SPI?

How hard is it to remove a brake servo with the master cylinder still in place? - mines looking crusty and I’ve refurbed / replaced everything else and have it working nicely, wouldn’t want to disturb it too much, took ages to bleed!!

thanks.

why would you want a larger Servo? what are you looking to achieve?

A big servo was nice for 'heel & toe' braking when dropping two gears at the Mallory Park hairpin.

It’s for a disabled driver that is soon not going to be able to put as hard pressure down.  The Mini clutch and accelerator is really good and the brakes are working brilliantly - completely rebuilt with all new cylinders etc... and are using sure stop discs and etc green pads (would prefer the minted though).

the brake efficiency is as good as you’d get or need, the brake pedal force could be eased.

incidentally, the mini has just been fitted with electric power steering and it’s just nice. Not over posted at speed and great on parking - about the same weight feel as my wife’s R56 Cooper.   The wee car has sportpack 13” wheels so was very heavy at low speeds.

Don't see why not, if you can find one to fit in the space. I can't think of any reason you couldn't servo the servo by adding a remote one, but potentially the easiest & most adaptable solution would be to use an electric vacuum pump that'll suck harder than the engine.

Metros also had a smaller bore clutch master that could help you as long as the bite point isn't on the floor.
