Hi everyone,
I've moved from restoring and finishing a 1965 Triumph Spitfire to restoring a 1983 Austin Mini 1000 City E 998cc. I just wanted to look into the engine number a bit more, I've used this website - https://www.minimani...on_Data_UPDATED and found out that it matches the V5 being a 998cc engine.
My engine number is 99H997P 153089.
The website above says -
99H/997 1980 onward A+ block, flat top pistons, economy fitment with 2.95 final drive
99H/A97P A+ block with dished pistons, pre-A+ gears, 3.44 final drive & 12-inch wheels
Therefore, my engine number '99H997P' matches - '1980 onward A+ block, flat top pistons, economy fitment with 2.95 final drive' BUT what does the P mean following the '99H997'?
Hope that makes sense,
Thanks, Oli
