Sc Road And Race Builds What Is The Difference?

Best Answer mini13 , 23 March 2020 - 04:03 PM

K1100 and 1200 heads are interchangable as long as you are running an external oil feed rather than via the head face ( 1200's dont have the oil way there IIRC)

K1100LT's have 256 degree cams, K1200RS's have 284 degree cams and slightly larger throttles, the 1100LT is good for about 120 hp, and the RS about 130hp, the ports are the same even though the 1200 has a revised casting, so the only difference is the thinner K1200 valve stems and the hotter cams.

After that its head work and cams, manifolds and intakes.

Im sure SC cut all their p[istons to the same depth so they are interchangable.

i am guessing that the heads are different but easily interchangable?

or is there work that has to be done to the heads either way so you cant just drop a K12 head on where a K11 head was?

Race cams usually have a higher lift, for the pockets in the pistons might have to be deeper ?
