Nothing major here, but one of my tear drops i think lost one or more of it's shims. Going to replace both of them, but not sure how many shims to install. Just so they are snug and then tighten down? Also my 1990 Mini is RHD 998cc, has the air intake above the tear drop. What would be the best way to remove this. Just pull it out? Thanks to anyone who can help me out here. All you guys stay well.

Some came from the factory with one shim, others needed none at all but just slide a suitable shim in if there is a gap.

You will know if it`s too big as the wheel arch will start to bulge a little.

It`s definitely worth adding shims if you are running 165 section tyres as a little extra clearance can be gained.

As for the fresh air pipe its best to pop the flexi pipe off from under the wing and squeese the sides in whilst pulling and wobbling from under the bonnet although you shouldn`t need to remove it to change the mount as you can fit it from below.
