About to fit HIF44 carb to my Mini and I wanted some advice on the best needle to use. I know that really it should be setup on a rolling road to confirm the best needle but with the current situation I won’t be able to get that done for a little while. The carb currently has a BEJ needle but I don’t think this will be right for my setup.

Engine CC: 1275

Air filter: K&N Filter in metro air filter housing

Inlet Manifold: Mainflow Alloy inlet

Cylinder Head: MG Metro cylinder head (35.6 inlet, 29.2 exhaust)

Cam: Swiftune SW5

Exhaust system: Maniflow twin box free flow exhaust

I would start with a BDL needle as fitted to the MG metro then go from there. The BEJ needle is a standard 1275 needle that was fitted to the 1275 metro.
