Hey all

Sorry just starting on my mini interior while it's quiet then it's off for a new loom and front suspension over haul

May be a silly question but on my aftermarket centre console were do I attach the 2 air vents?
Are these plumbed into heater or rerouted from dash vents? If so are hoses needing bought?

Also plan was to have 2 x speakers behind them instead but reading on forum its not advised. Should I reroute dash vents to centre console and place speakers in dash board?

You can swap the fresh air vents for speakers if you have a full dash, no problem. Just blank off behind.

Center consoles usually just box in the heater Some have eyeball vents on the front. You don't need to move any hoses.

My console has 2 vents at the top. Do they connect to anything?
Is it worth blocking dash vents and how todo it?

Not seen your particular console but most aftermarket ones with vents form a box around the heater, so when it's on "car", instead of blowing straight down, it blows through the vents on the front of the console. They are just holes in a box.

The dash vents only provide fresh air from outside and are nothing to do with the heater or blower. I like them for directing fresh air but they are not needed. You can open a window. Mk1s didn't have them.

You can buy blanking plates for the holes where they come through from the wings. Or maybe leave the plastic adapter on and seal it up with a rattle can lid or something?

Hey

That's a great response.

Yes my centre console has the 2 vents I just didn't know if they need plumbed in but you've covered it as the vents are shaped to fit snug around heater

Also I will put speaker in vents in dash and block up holes.

Thanks very much for cleaning that up. ????
