Hello

I hope everyone is well.

I wonder if anyone can recommend a number plate supplier?

I have a '93 Mayfair with the original dealership number plates however the rear has developed a watermark and now it is an advisory on the MOT!

I will keep these plates for originality however I am looking for a new set - perhaps with raised digits or something a little different to standard.

I'm hoping for an online purchase given the current climate!

I'm also hoping to avoid any branding or borders. I'd like a clean look.

Any suggestions let me know!

Cheers,

E

I doubt that you will get one on line.

You have to provide documents of proof, because naughty people used to note the number of a vehicle, just like their's, and drive about with fake plates so that someone else got their speeding tickets.

When the saucy naughty people picked the number from a police car, the law quickly changed.

I would suggest one of the number plate specialists who may be able to refurbish your original plates, if you wish to keep them for originality. I had a set made by a company who were at Brighton for the 2019 L2B. Unfortunately, I can't remember their name, at the moment.

Anyone else on here who can help?

Try 'Fancy plates'. They are an on-line supplier and my friend who has a UK car in Spain used them to get some new UK plates.

Tippers plates are great quality if you want the raised letters.

I used number1plates.com and am very happy with the quality, choice, service and delivery speed.

All i had to do was send a photo of my V5 and licence.

Another vote here for Tippers plates.  I recently got some 1970s style ones and am really pleased with them.  I had a 21st Century BS145d type on the front and it looked so wrong.

Thanks everyone for the recommendations!

The 70s Tippers plates look fantastic. The factory is shut at the moment so I think I will wait until they are back up and running.

I think I will also look into have the originals restored.

Ordered Friday, received today a new reflective front plate from pfc www.platesforcars.co.uk - UK legal but length trimmed taking into account that a number ’1’ is narrower than than the other digits and letters. BS plus plate makers name and postcode are in a discreet grey script. Company is based in Ireland which probably explains why I didn’t need to show proof of ownership.
