Hi

Thanks for the reply.

You are really getting a move on.

Sorry for all the questions, can I confirm the order of what you did?
Sealed all joints, Epoxy primer, Gravitex (what colour?) then paint colour.
What type of paint are you using and how much did you use?

Thanks for your help.

I’ve done more in 3 weeks of lockdown than in the last 9 months of evenings and weekends

Primer first, then tiger seal gunned into the seams and upol brushable under wings
and internal floor seams, gravitex black then sprayed on top

I sprayed with 2 coats of single stage top coat (standofleet made by standox)

3 litres of topcoat mixed 3-1 with hardener and 10% thinners

Goes on really smooth

Sprayed car today in the garage drying I will post pics tomorrow

Got body sprayed now a few nibs and marks to sand and polish out but all good.

Started to put it back together now brakes all done and starting to put rubbers and glass back in

Need to order up some window and rear glass rubbers before I can go much further

I may start putting loom back in next week while I’m waiting for bits

Loom all back in including centre speedo binnacle not too bad a job although I haven’t tested it yet, rear lights cleaned up and back on I’ve also got the fuel tank connected up and sprayed the boot lid and refitted it.Rear screen and rear quarters back in as well

It’s looking like a mini again if only from the back ;-) Working again this week so back to evenings only Hopefully get the front flatted and polished and sort out the front end.

Big jobs still to do are the door bottoms and rebuilding the engine which I am looking forward to doing

Not really underside anymore but I’ll carry on with original thread

Front of car built up now and engine rebuilt I’ve had it turning over on the bench but not fired it up yet

Also fitted mini sport 7.5 disc set up , nice and easy about 20 mins a side

New clutch plate also in

Jobs to do

Still got doors bottoms to do and give car a good clean

Damn, that was rapid once you got moving.

Do you have an epoxy primer recommendation? I'm sure it's relatively straight forward to pick one but always nice to have a tried and tested option.
