Hi

what would people recommend a genuine scuttle would be nice but a non genuine is a third of the price does anyone have any experience of fitting the non genuine ones and if so what are the pitfalls, it is really just the ends under the closing panels that are rotten has anyone fitted the repair sections for the scuttle. I am after peoples opinions before I place an order. Thanks.

Its the one panel that needs to be Heritage, Magnum ends and even the complete scuttle are bad.

As above, only heritage, I used the magnum end pieces and they were a paint to get right.

same here, and also, dont go anywhere near magnum wings now, they are not even worth bothering with if you need wings too.

All magnum panels seem to be getting harder and harder to make fit I assume the tooling is getting worn out

Absolutely Heritage!

Although a non genuine is a third of the price, you'll take many hours trying to get it to fit properly. Then, if you want it to look right, you'll pull it off and buy a Heritage one, which you'll wish you'd done in the first place.

Definitely Heritage for the scuttle. Mine has had a Magnum panel fitted and I had no end of trouble getting the windscreen to fit correctly.

The one thing here and it applies to both Heritage and Magnum you still need to take measurements of the windscreen aperture before you remove the old scuttle if it’s a OE item.

Even Heritage scuttle cans have some excess material on the windscreen lip. Been there with the last two I have fitted so always worth checking.

The BMH forms and presses will be getting a little tired plus the quality control can be a bit hit and miss. The quality control I found out with my expensive Clubman bonnet. Looked ok on the outside but the underside was a different story.
