1/12 Scale Tamiya Replica

I had  a Tamiya 1/12th scale Mini Cooper I built years ago which I am now hoping to transform into a replica of my wife's Sprite.

 

So far, I have stripped the shell and an now in the process of removing the old paint ready to prime and paint it.

nice! im doing the same...kind of. I bought a diecast model mini and am making it as close to mine as possible. I'll post pics when its done.

Nice restauration there! ?
Are you going to spot weld the roof, or are you plug welding?

Looks good! I’m a big fan of Tamiya r/c since the 80’s. owned multiple Mini Coopers (and other models) years ago, but have since sold all of them off.

It’s hard to believe they don’t make a Mini MChassis anymore.
