I always get my valuation through my insurer, I hope there will be less wiggle room in the event of a payout

i insured my recently restored mini mayfair though Lancaster insurance, they do agreed valuations,.You state what the minimum value you believe your car is worth when you get your quote, then once you have taken out the policy they send you a link for you to upload pictures and information about the car and work you have done/had done.

I low balled mine at 10k so next year i will revalue it at £15k i think. But its nice to know if something happens i wont get £5k for it which seems to be around the max and insurer will pay for a classic mini.

Same here I didn’t need to use a 3rd party for my agreed value. Just sent photos to insurance with a reasonable estimate and that was that. I think club values is more for cars with particularly high values. Rather than modest classics
