Best Answer nicklouse , 15 April 2020 - 03:36 PM

You are missing the trigger wheel at least maybe other bits depending on what it actually is. Go to the full post

Hey all

I got this today well awaiting on it. But I believe there is a part missing black possibly magnet?

Am I right in thinking this is all I need to fit an electronic ignition instead of current points?

I have searched online and forum and various kits with more bits than others available so not 100 % what I need

Where did you get it from? It depends on what make it is.

Some have spacers which fit under the rotor arms and some have trigger rings but it depends on supplier/manufacturer.

Remember also that you may need to change the coil for one suited to electronic ignition.

Bought it off someone off a mini Facebook page. Paid for it prior to finding out a piece was missing. I am hoping someone may have a spare piece who has maybe broke a mini with one?

Can these be bought separately?

That one looks like it may be a Powerspark kit minus the trigger.

You could try calling them.

Quite possibly. 88 Mayfair probably has a 45 or 59 dizzy but you need to check. If it is, you'll need this kit.

Are there any markings/serial numbers on the module? If so, give Simon a ring and check. It may still work.

That's great

I'll have to stick that one on ebay see if I can get a few quid back then.

Or could be this one

Most of the conversion kits are designed to work with standard coils .

The connectors and grommet on the one you bought definitely look like a Powerspark piece of kit rather than the Britpart.
