Fitting Cobra Buckets Seats

With the side mounts on, pushed right up against the cross member, and as far left as possible (against the tunnel down the middle where the handbrake lies) the distance from me to the controls is good but I sit about 4inches too far to the right. I don't want to go on top of the cross member because my head will be against the roof but I can't see another way to move the seat left so I align with the controls.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Or got some helpful advice?
Many thanks, Ed

i had the same issue but maybe not as severe as you. I ended up using the factory front bracket mount and making a piece that would shift the seat over about an inch or so. I then used one of the raceseat slider assembles from sportseats4u and drilled new holes in the front tabs to get it to sit on the crossmember rather than above it and attached it to my side shift brackets. I dont have any pics right now unfortunately but its easy to figure out. I wanted to shift the seat over more like you and i did with the first version but the shift starts getting in the way. Even now i dont have much room beside my leg when i shift into 4th, 1.5in left is a good compromise. I barely notice the offset now too. i have plenty of head room at nearly 6ft tall with a helmet on. I do slide the seat back and i spaced the steering wheel back to suit.
Have you tried flipping the left side seat mount so the bottom tabs face inwards? Ive done that before on a few cars but not on the mini.

I did try and swap the side mounts around but it wasn't a significant difference.
