hi all after being banned from the garage from metal work for a week after a trip to more fields eye hospital yesterday to have a bit of metal removed from my eye even though I was wearing fully sealed goggles... im looing for a few indoor jobs for the mini to keep busy in the current lockdown situation.

has anyone got a picture of a standard red rsp walnut dash as I have the white gauges an not sure if that was standard also are the chrome bezel surrounds available as mine are not great, I plan to refinish and repair the original dash.

any help is apricated :highfive:

Lol I have had that trip 4 times over the years.

The wood dash was an optional extra, I have a brochure somewhere I will dig it out tomorrow and get a pic if nobody get you one sooner.

I don't think the walnut dash was a Rover option. John Cooper Garages sold them and I think Rover adopted something identical or very similar for the later MPi models. John Cooper had one fitted to his own RSP, which Roger Hunt now owns. They first appeared in the JCG 1992 catalogue and then the 1993/4 catalogue as here:

http://www.minipassi...Cooper 1992.pdf

The gauges are shown as remaining green as was originally standard for RSPs.

If I understand correctly MiniSpares do green faces:

and Somerford do the surrounds:

I am having trouble finding my brochures in my mess. Are you on Facebook?
If so join this page: RSP Cooper Register ( for owners past & present )

John Cooper Garages closed about fifteen years ago but before that they used to sell a range of their own branded accessories. They also used to have a trade stand at events like London to Brighton. I have a 2001 Moss Mini Accessories brochure, which includes a range of JCG products so it appears they sold them through other dealers. Pedals, door pulls and window winders were in the range.

The reference I gave above for the bezels is wrong. It should be:

http://www.somerford...roducts_id=7770

The part number is FAV000050MMM

but they may be difficult to get hold of.

Surrounds/Bezels here also - assuming all the dashes are 95.5mm (looks like it would have been 3 & 3/4" in old money - ok 3.75" if you like decimals !!!)
