“I bought all the items best part of 15 yrs ago and as much as I can remember he was an old guy with grey hair and beard and lived on a farm which I'm sure was near Cambridge. He'd only recently retired a couple of seasons prior to my visit. His daughter or Granddaughter had a Mini the same colour orange as the head. It was fitted with a 1000 race engine built by the guy and this was 1 of his spare race heads”

Did Peter Baldwin ever have a beard?
I've never seen him with one, but orange was synonymous with Peter. Half the Miglia drivers seem to live in Cambridgeshire though, there's quite a choice.

Thanks guys. A few other clues...
"He'd coated it in an automotive wax or shellac as he did with all his race parts to preserve them"
"His workshop was an Aladdin's cave of Miglia wheels, bonnets, arches, SO many gearboxes and the advice he gave me for getting HP outta A series had me there for a few hours"
"If it helps, he had a obsession with Orange as some of the race wheels and panels where bright orange."
And the best one...
"Think his name was Paul or Peter...."
The only thing that's confusing me is that it's a 9-studder. I would have thought that anything used for racing and with relatively high compression would have to be an 11-studder?
