I’ve been making a series of switches to mount under the dash which have to be flicked in a certain order to start the car... like Madmax. It will be impossible to bypass the switches and controlled via Raspberry Pi. This won’t stop it being towed though.

Aw rats, I was going to post the clip from Robocop2. Definitely the bee knees when it comes to stopping car theft and there's zero reoffending!

I like how the top of the thief's head is still smoking when he's ejected from the car :D

Love the Roger Moore Bond films, he was my favourite 007.

Citroen CV became the getaway car if my memory serves me right?

Yes, a yellow 2CV.

I like the idea but how do you stop the switches being bypassed?

Use a couple of relays and mount the controller away from the switches. It would take ages to figure it all out.

If you're using standard coil ignition with a distributor it would still be very easy to bypass but I can see it working well with electronic ignition or fuel injection if the ECU is hidden from view too so the power to the ECU can be interrupted.  Linking it to a hidden fuel cut off solenoid in the fuel line would work too.

Once upon a time "hotwiring" a car was simple.Nowadays it is still simple but the knowledge to do it has probably been all but lost.Where is the OBD port?no Bluetooth?Steve..
