Hi Everyone,

I have seen a video (German) where someone has reamed the bushes while the crown wheel was mounted to the diff cage using an adjustable reamer. Do you think that this is an alternativ to machining the bushes on the lathe?

What are your thoughts on this?

Realistically, this would be OK, but not the best practice.

It is best to do them in the lathe though as it does center them. Reaming will only follow what's there, so, if it's off center to start with, it will be after. The bush being made the way they are, they are close but not spot on, so reaming them will likely have them slightly off too.
