Have you confirmed the spark plugs are sparking? If not,

Remove a plug from the head
Refit the ht lead to the plug
Rest the plug on the head so it will sit without you needing to hold it.

Crank the engine while looking at the plug, you should see a consistent spark.
do this for all four plugs then clean and refit the plugs.

Turns out was power from the coil was dropping significantly - rewired as part of new harness and she is all good

Perfect, glad to hear the issue Is resolved, sounds like the issue may have been a partially broken wire.

This is a problem with multimeter's for testing,if only one strand of wire is still connected it may still read 12volts.Testing with the load applied should show this.Steve..

Interesting Steve as I tested it multiple times so never questioned the reading until an older English mini mechanic mentioned likely the source of my troubles
