Hi All

There's some quite bad rust and a hole in the back right companion compartment. It looks to me to be threw the inside sill? is that correct? would this be an MOT Fail.

What sort course of action would you recommend to deal with this?

Cheers

Andy

Quite common on Minis and part of the inner sill and rear subframe mounting area, so should be an MOT fail, although I don't think MOT testers are allowed to remove interior trim like the liner so may not be seen. However for your own peace of mind any serious structural corrosion like that should be repaired asap.

You have multiple issues there unfortunately. The inner sill being one, probably the heelboard end being another one, the bottom section of the quarter panel and that will have affected the outer sill.

All repairable but not a five minute job.

But as mab01uk has stated unless that can be seen from the outside of the car at all then its unlikely for the MOT tester will see it from inside of the companion bin if the liner is installed.
