Wiring Diagram For '93 Rio (Last Of Carb Models) ?

Best Answer cal844 , 20 May 2020 - 09:42 AM

I have the actual manual as a hard copy and Nial is right there is no mention of the carb model. The wiring diagrams just pertain to the SPI.

On my 94 carb model the wire that Nial says is yellow and white is just white although looks more like a cream colour.

It's _definitely_ yellow and white, it doesn't show up brilliantly in the photo but there's a defiinite yellow stripe.

It looks like they were just making it up as they went along!

That connector is non standard. The two dizzy wires go straight from the coil to the module on the side with no additional connectors. Go to the full post

Looks like someone has perhaps added a non standard colour wire.

As CAL844 said there is no inline connector at that point.

On mine the 2 wires go straight into the electronic module.

I think the lead should look something like this:

Top man, that is indeed the factory loom, there was also a 3 pin version too iirc.

I couldn't find the loom to link to ? must be the heat lol

Thanks guys, the bottom of the distributor's fairly grubby, I didn't realise there was a connector into it!  >:-0

Correct wire ordered. :-)

[Edit] Would anoyone know what the correct condenser for this distributor / coil combination is?  [/Edit]

No condenser on an electronic ignition setup - they're just for points
