Both bought from Ebay, they are the raised letter type but only 2 or 3 mm. I can get close up images of the black and silver plate if you need.

It depends on how strict your MOT tester is if you fit the wrong style of plate.

Pressed plates aren't an issue for mot so long as font and spacing are correct.
I think there are construction and use issues if you get a fussy copper with pressed plates or plates with stuck on raised characters for vehicles after a certain date and all plates must have a British standard number on them legally (but not for mot purposes any more)
