1275 A+ Block And Crank Paired To 22G1128 4-Synchro Box

As the title suggests I’m looking to pair up my 1275 A+ short engine build with the 22G1128 4-synchro gearbox which came in my mini, because I want to use the remote gearshift.
I’m also going to replace the gearset etc from the 22G1128 box as it was an 850, going to transplant the gears etc from my A+ rod change box.
My question is what drop gears do I need to use? I’ve heard I’ll need a pre-A+ 1275 primary gear but what spec idler and first motion do I need? And is there anything else I need to consider?
Thanks to those who’ve already advised me, I’m just making doubly sure here before I go and order stuff!
Many thanks
Alex

You will need pre-A+ idler and input gear to make sure the tooth profiles match across the 3 gears.
(you need pre-A+ as the idler shafts are smaller than on the A+. Your gearbox will use this smaller shaft size - you will also need a corresponding drop gear casing for the same reason, or a 'conversion' bearing).

As mentioned you will need to use the transfer case that goes with the gearbox. So you will also need to use the drop gears to suit except for the primary gear that will need to match the crank as well.
Back to the remote box. See what the laysharft number is and look up the gear set. Check the CW&P numbers/teeth. You might just need to change the CW&P .

The A+ gears will go in OK, but there's two modifications you'll need to do;-
1. The small end of the Layshaft where it goes in to the case will need a bit of relieving. It doesn't need to be neat, only do it as deep as is needed. Or there was someone who was offering 3 step Layshafts that were modified to fit these earlier cases, though, I haven't seen them in a while. Might have been Swift Tune ?
2. You'll need a Reverse Gear from the Remote gear set as they are different to the Rod Shift type

I’ve still got the 850 transfer case so guess I can use that?
Will make sure to keep the 850 reverse gear too.
Will have to look into the layshaft modification.
Cheers

The 850 transfer case probably hasn't got a breather take off. I think they can be drilled and tapped and a breather fitted though.

yes they can be sorted but you need to not drill too deep. and then finish off with a die grinder.
