Hi everyone,

I’ve got the minispares poly mount kit for my front subframe. The teardrop mounts are replaced by a bush, washer and bolt. On assembling it today, it seems the washer isn’t up to the job, it’s not big enough and not thick enough. It’s easily bending under the strain and I think it’ll probably pull through.

Any thoughts?

It certainly wouldn't hurt to just throw a couple of bigger thicker washers on there.

Considered it but it’s going to be a road car and I’m too old for that now ?

Then stick with rubber - the poly ones are sh*t and you'll be replacing them again in no time.
I don't think solid mounting adds much to the NVH - that's how they were originally don't forget.

I’ve already got rubber on the rear, they’re brand new so I don’t fancy swapping them to be honest. I’ll either get some bigger washers or swap for standard tear drops.

Either go all rubber or all solid, no mixing and matching and no poly mounts either.

Why no poly?

They either snap or delaminate quicker than the rubber type

Here is a link to the poly front subframe toeboard mounts...

Scroll down and there is a very clear image. Some images have been removed from the third party hosting site, so wont display.

You see the poly mount going bad already.
