Hi All,

As the title says really.

I've fitted the bottom ball joint and have reached the point where I only have the lock washer and no shims but there's still play in the pin.  Hard to measure but I'd say at least 5 thou.

I've tried the old ball joint and a fresh one and it's the same with both.

Any suggestions?  Or is it new swivel hub time?

Cheers

Have you refitted the spring?

No, I'm setting it up before adding the spring.

Is it a new balljoint?
Hardened washer under the balljoint cup works. But I'm guessing it's a low quality joint.

Check there isn't an old shim still stuck on the hub.

It's not a new joint. I disassembled it to clean up the hub and am now at the point of re-assembly.

I've tried a new joint as well though, same issue.

I'll double check for shims

Thanks

I recall having one like this. It all looked OK, I didn't have time to measure parts to see where the error was, I just machined a little off the Cup of the Ball Joint.
