Has anybody any tips for removing the little bush in the diff housing, it's the one that the stabilizer arm goes to for the gear change.
I've actually my new engine and gearbox fitted but didn't notice till I had fitted it that the bush isn't present in the new gearbox, have tried knocking it out of the old one but it wont move.

I did this job the other week. But on the bench not in the car. I could not knock it out.. I removed the centre old rubber damaged section and used an junior hacksaw to cut through the outer shell allowing it to collapse slightly and be knocked out. Its a very tight fit

Hope this helps

Today was mainly trying to take out the blower motor. I have seen some bodges before but ......

Engine wise pulled out the metalastic bush for the gear change. New one should be here next week. The ones I thought were for are too big.
Here is a how to get the bush out.

Then it was onto cleaning out the insides of the manifold. Stripping and cleaning the carb as the jet was stuck.

Time to fit the new bush.

Cheers for that idea nicklouise, it worked a treat, was a little fiddly as I was working on my back under the car, but it's all good ?

I made a tool for removing and refitting them.

Need to be very careful back here as the casting section isn't thick and it's easy to break them.
