I need to replace a reversing light bulb on a Mini Cooper R56 but I can't access the bulb. I watched this video:

but I don't see the clips mentioned in that (it's a different light). Mine looks like this:

Underneath there are no clips to the side. There are 2 at the bottom which I undid and the assembly is loose but wont come out. Should I be doing this or is there a way to remove the light rather than the whole thing like the guy does in the video?

There is another clip at the top which I can't see, I can take a photo of it though:

I figured it out, there are 4 clips. The bottom 2 push up and the top 2 push down and the light pulls out towards the car, rather than away from the car like the video. I pulled the reversing bulbs out but they looked fine so I put them back in and they both now work and the fault message has gone! I guess it was just a loose bulb

Glad you got it sorted as this is forum for the CLASSIC Mini not the BMW version you have .. the questions on signing up should have suggested that! :-)

The video is for the earlier Mini Cooper R50/R53 (Mk1).......you have an R56 (Mk2) which is why the instructions and reverse light are different.

Yes I realise that, but there aren't any videos for the R56, hence the post. Since this is the wrong forum, if it's not useful to others then I'll delete it.

No worries, you posted it in the correct area of the forum, even though it is a classic Mini forum there are some on here who also have Modern MINI's and may be able to help. (I have an R50 MINI)
