Hi All,

I was just looking for a little help with my current set up - I have in my mini what I thought was a Metro Engine, however, I took the head off last weekend and noticed that it has Dished pistons. - I thought I read somewhere that the dished pistons were in a Metro Turbo lump.

I’m asking more so out of interest as it makes good power and to find out what I’m best doing with it-  it seems to make relatively good power as is with a HS4 Carb and 940 head but want to know if it would be better to go back forced induction with what could be lower compression and if dished pistons were also in the non-turbo metro engine?

thanks

The non turbo MG Metro also had dished pistons.

Phil.

Did not most A series engines have dished pistons. Only some 998s had flat or D top pistons.

Correct Nick 1275 had dished and 998, at least A+ flat pistons, (At least all the ones I have ripped apart). I think the 1275 dish does vary depending on model of Mini / Metro it came from (ie High or low compression)
