So, I've been clearing through boxes of old stuff from when I built the engine in my mini (at least 6 years ago) and found one of 2 sets of pistons/con rods.

This set I had put away rubbed in oil, wrapped in plastic, then housed in a hard plastic box with a bit more protection. I tend to be careful with stuff.

This set have 21253 +20 pistons on, but I cannot find any markings on the Conrods other than LAF7.

I'm clearing out most of the stuff. Giving it away, taking to dumpborbouttingbon eBay where they may be of interest to someone else. I'm not sure on the farte of this set yet. I get overly attached things like this.

Does anyone know what they are? what steel they may be made from? Who made them? Are they the best Conrods in the world, or the worst thing in the world?

Most of the parts I have are reasonably decent spec, but almost all came from second hand cars/engines and not necessarily any provenance.

They are early, but not the earliest, 1275 Rods. They used these an all 1275s except Cooper S, from 1969-ish to about early / mid 1979.

They are OK, a bit heavy for what they do. EN16T if memory Serves. They can be lightened up a fair bit.

Many thanks Moke Spider! I could not find any information by googling the code, which had me a bit stumped. Almost everything mini has been discussed online to the nth detail, but I could find nothing on LAF 7 Conrods!
