Thank you for the help I identified the issue as a lose connection to the coil. Go to the full post

So I serviced the mini and she was running fine, shes an spi. I then left her in the garage for a few hours and came back to take her out, she started up and moved forward a few feet and then cut out. She wont start again, I have fuel going in and I'm going to check the spark tomorrow and one else got any ideas what I may have done?

When you say cut out, do you mean instantly or spluttered and died?

The one relay on the bulkhead could have tripped out, these are the 2 black square box things on the bulkhead on the right as you look into the engine bay (Technical term - box things by the way)

If it started and moved a few feet, that's a start !

Will it be obvious how to reset it when I open the boxes?

This won’t cause it to cut out....

Did you disconnect the battery? Did you drop/lose any tools while doing the servicing particularly in the starter area? Did anything break or accidentally came off during the servicing?  Did you wash the engine? Did you ensure to reconnect back everything in the right places? Just to start.

To be honest I was thinking about running/starting issues I have come across in the past, not Mini ones in particular.

Thought it was worth the suggestion since there isn't a lot of info to go on.

It’s fine. We just want posters to post as much as possible about the problem so we can be much more specific about the help.

Its why I am being a little bit flip to encourage to OP to tell us what they can as literally at this stage the problem is too wide.

Didn't mean to offend - we are all all trying to help one another.

I have a special interest in fuel injection cars

Yes I disconnected the batter while servicing the car. I reconnected everything back up correctly as it was running fine for at least 15 mins before I turned it off and went inside. I did happen to spill some oil as the funnel slipped and this did run down the engine block, I cleaned it up as best I could and like I've said it did start and run fine. I didnt wash the engine I just mopped up the excess oil.

I then left the car for a few hours came back to it to go to the shop and it started I drove it out the garage and it spluttured a little and then died. I tried to start it again with no luck. Fuel is be injected into the bit below the air filter, I'm going to test for a spark tomorrow, but I cant see how I lost it if that is the case.

I had this a few years back, and it baffled me. I keep all the parts i take off during a service, just in case a new part is faulty, so started putting the old bits back on one at a time to see if any of it sorted the issue. In the end it appears the new rotor arm was the issue, comparing it to the old one it looked a completely different shape.
