Do MG Metro seats need any special runner or seat bases to fit a Mini ??

Yes.

MiniSpeed used to make a set of rear mounts to fit MG seats into Mini's - Pity they don't exist any more.

There were nothing too complicated - a piece of square flat bar with threaded holes for the seat runners, some round bar welded offset to space it off the floor and some thin flat plate as feet welded to the round bar with two bolt holes through the floor each side.

I cut a piece of 2mm angle for the front mount.

Phil.

these are the frame i used to fit Metro GTA seats into mine

i'm not sure what the frames were originally designed for (probably corbeau or cobra at a guess), but I just added a couple of steel bars fixed across the runners, and bolted up through them into the seat base (..or possibly the metro runners  - can't remember now)
