Towing eye shouldn't be attached all the time!

Mine have been on the car in my avatar for 10 years with no issues

Well dunky does have an issue with it and all minis weren’t made equal, so removing it will likely solve his issue.

Silly question but should it just unscrew off? Happy to keep it in the boot!

The way it’s eating into the metal (and rubbing to make the squeak sound) looks like it may not have been put on correctly or moved over time, so bet it won’t just unscrew.

Yes it should just unscrew. If it won’t unscrew by hand, put a screwdriver through it for better leverage

Thanks mate. Minispares suggests there should be a bolt in its place if not using the towing eye?

Or just get the the other towing eye that does not catch. But I would also check the condition of the pear drop bush.

Thank you I’ll take a look. Ah Tear drop I think it may be called. So the towing eye is pretty integral to structure? Glad I didn’t just undo it and leave it without a replacement ?

I am wondering whether the towing eye that I currently have installed has taken a hit and bent upwards, hence touching the front panel?  Can anyone tell from the photo?

Slacken it of and twist it round a bit so it doesn't touch the panel.
