Ok great I’ve got the regulators plus have pulled out the the back of the fuel gauge unit as pictured in the photo

Let me know once you get the right size ring terminals as well as the wire and capacitors, and I will let you know where to post all the bits.

Are capacitors essential wasn’t sure if it was a must or could be done without

The capacitors will basically smooth out any variation in the voltage going in/coming out of the regulator. For this task I wouldn't think they are 100% essential, but would be considered best practice.

 

In the end it is up to you, I don't imagine it would be any worse then the stock set-up if they are not used.
