Im currently nearing the completion of my engine build. Im searching the internet for places that offer dyno testing of engine only. Has anyone done this and can you offer suggested companies / estimated costs?

Thanks

Most Dyno’s set up to take a Mini engine/gearbox are associated with specialist Mini tuners such as Swiftune, Kad and Med. You will have more choice of setting up the engine if you install it and take it to a rolling road. Where are you located ?

If you're in the South West then Slark engineering is the place to go.
Had mine done a couple of months back for £185

Thanks for this. I did see a you tube clip of med but could find no other info. I’m in Northants. Midlands. I have almost built my engine but have some way to go yet to complete the car. My thoughts were to dyno test before it’s in the car as any faults can be found before it’s fitted. It’s my first engine build.

Thanks rob

Do slark engineering do just the engine or car? I really don’t mind how far I have to travel for a good job. I’m Northants. Midlands.

I'm certain MED don't have their own engine dyno facility, at least they didn't last time I visited.
KAD do have their own engine dyno.
I had my engine set up on the rolling road by Peter Baldwin in Cambridge, but he may have retired now.

I've never used them personally, but would agree - even if they can't help, they'd probably know someone local who could.

Thanks for all the responses. Just checked northampton motor sport and they look like rolling road. crafted classic dont seem to offer dyno on the site. I will start to make some calls tomorrow and see if anyone can do engine only. After the bad experience of this build so far I want to use a well known company with recommendations. Its my first engine build so im sure there will be one or two issues. Be nice to check it all before ive put it into the car..
