Starting My Mini Up

Hi all,
Just purchased a Rover Mini Mayfair '94 a couple of months ago with little knowledge of cars in general (Mistake? We'll find out!). My first Mini and also my first classic car. Always wanting to learn, especially about what is now my pride and joy.
I could fill this post with all the questions I have but I'll save the mods some time and post in the right sections :P
Thank you to everyone that helps not just me (in the future) but all the other new people to mechanics <3

Good luck with your new purchase and we all have to learn somewhere and learning on something more straight forward like a Mini is a good first step in my opinion. I would suggest you to get a Haynes manual and carry out basic servicing to start with an leave any modifications until you have a better grasp of what is going on with the standard vehicle. You can find that some aftermarket parks / up grades require some modification to get them to fit / work as they are intended, so are best left until you have a better understanding.

Been through the Haynes Manual a couple times already. A lot to learn 
Not gonna go for any CRAZY modifications but there's a few in mind. Exhaust leak right now so I'm looking into that mainly.

You often get a blow by the exhaust manifold usually due to the engine rocking too much due to worn tie bar rubbers and it causing the exhaust to leak over time.. Good luck
