Hi looking for a set of S steels. The minispares ones are rubbish.
Based in Birmingham.
Cheers
The minispares ones are considered the best of the new ones available, I couldn't find a decent set of original ones, so went for 4.5 x 10 alloys instead.

You decide. They are going to send a 3rd set out. The 2nd set was 'checked' before sending. These are just some of the imperfections, unfinishedwelds etcWhy do you say they are rubbish I was looking to buy a silver set

I have had 12 from Minisport ( yea I know ) and 4 from Minispares and 4 unused from a private seller and only 1 of the 20 wheels were what I consider to be true as in not buckled.
4 out of the 20 were like eggs to be fair so i`m banding some standard 3.5" steels at the moment in the S offset, they will be considerably lighter but not so pretty.
I love the look of the S steels but i`m thinking for function alloys are the way to go as it seems to be nigh on impossible to purchase a set of new steel wheels that are not bent
I use a machined down hub in the chuck of a lathe to test the rims.

Steeley, i bought mine from Minisport and they were the same, so i can only assume they are all from the same manufacturer.
One rim, the actual rim edge was not formed correctly so Minisport sent me another rim gratis. Could not fault their service there. However they all have raised welds, but i can live with that. I could knock them back if i wanted to.

Just an update.
Mini spares were really good in trying to sort it, but they just could find a decent enough set. It was pretty painless sending the stuff back which they completely organised. and refunded straight away. I've ordered the ones now, with the caps, nuts and valves. Works out about £50 cheaper. so fingers crossed
