Dear Forum - your advice is sought again, please. Having suffered a broken manifold where it meets the exhaust I found the top stabiliser to be, well, not very stable. I understand that there is also supposed to be a stabiliser on the bottom of the engine - it's an automatic mini 30 - but I cannot find one anywhere! Can anyone advise as to whether there should be a stabiliser there and, if so, where is goes, please?

Very grateful in advance

Best wishes, and stay safe....

Mike

Don’t think the Auto had a lower stabiliser.

Ok, many thanks for that folks. I am surprised given the jolting on the auto, but I will keep a closer eye on the top stabiliser in future. Just fitted the purple bushes which will, hopefully, do the trick.

All best wishes and please stay safe

Best to have rubber ones on the engine side. The polyurethane ones do not heat and will not last long.

Oh! That's interesting because the ones I took off had rubber on the engine end of the bar and poly ones on the bulkhead end. I thought that was a mistake! I will keep a close watch on them and have a pair of rubber ones ready at the first sign of movement. Many thanks for that.

Best wishes

Mike

I’ve had these fitted to my mini before, but not sure if they will fit your auto?

they will not as the auto box is totally different.

Many thanks, Clip, they would be a good option, although Nicklouse says the auto box is different. I will have a good look underneath, though, to see if I can rig up something similar just to give a bit more stability. I did try minispares additional stabiliser   https://www.minispar...c/MSSK1000.aspx but there was no way I could get it to fit as all the hoses were in the way.

As always, many thanks for the wisdom of the forum

Best wishes

Mike
